Active Life snow Club (ALSC) offers both female and male instructors certified under any one of the highest rated global certifications including the Professional Ski Industry Association (PSIA), American Association of Snowboard Instructors (AASI), British Association of Snowsport Instructors (BASI), the Canadian Ski Instructors Association (CSIA), the New Zealand Ski Instructor Association (NZSIA), Australian Professional Snowsport Instructors (APSI), which are all governed by the International Ski Instructor Association (ISIA). To launch the 2022 and 2023 season, for the first time, Active Life Snow Club lessons will be offered at both Madarao Resort and Active life's very own Palcall Tsumagoi Mountain Resort!
Our instructors are not just selected based on their qualifications and skills but for their personal qualities too – in particular, their emotional intelligence, integrity, focus on safety, sense of humour and attention to detail; attributes we believe that will help us achieve our goal of maximising guest experience.
Active Life Snowclub Kids Group Lessons
We understand that traveling with kids can be stressful sometimes. We want to ensure that we are doing as much as possible to enhance the holiday experience of our guests. After all, ski holidays are meant for both kids and parents. Sometimes, adults need some time out too!
That’s why we have introduced our 2.5 hrs kids’ lessons for children aged between 5 and 15. Snow Club members enjoy the benefit of dropping off their kids for lessons in the morning, then picking them up after!
You will know that we provide a fun and safe environment with the goal of making them better skiers or snowboarders.
We provide one beginner ski and snowboard lesson and one level 2-3 ski and snowboard lesson, daily. Each student will be assessed and placed at an appropriate level. Lesson sizes and instructor numbers for each class may vary daily, however, we guarantee that even for 1 student, the lesson will go ahead.
ALSC offers both female and male instructors. Bookings are essential and offered to Active Life Snow Club members only.
Active Life Snowclub Adult Group Lessons
Active Life Snow Club facilitates two adult group lessons per day. Our 2.5 hour lessons are designed to progress your skiing or snowboarding skills in a safe, fun, and supportive environment.
We take pride in offering 2.5 hour lessons where every guest/student can learn without rushing through the lesson.
Whether you’re taking your very first steps onto the snow, wish to begin linking your turns, or turning your ski wedge to parallel, we will provide the platform for you to improve and enjoy your holiday.
Morning ski and snowboard lessons are designed for level 1 or those who have not skied or snowboarded before. Afternoon lessons are level 2-3 lessons, still focused on beginners but designed to improve your skills.
Lesson sizes and instructor numbers for each class may vary daily, however, we guarantee that even for 1 student, the lesson will go ahead.
ALSC offers both female and male instructors. Bookings are essential and offered to Active Life Snow Club members only.
Private Ski and Snowboard Lessons
Short on time, patience or just want all the attention to yourself or your group? No problems! Book your own personal professional instructor and accelerate your learning experience. Our private lessons are suitable for all ages and levels and are available exclusively to Active Life guests at the best prices in Madarao.
Lessons range from half-day lessons, 1-day, 2-day, and 3-day lessons.
Our half-day lessons begin at 9 am and finish at midday, daily. Our full-day lessons begin at 9 am and conclude at 3 pm daily.
More than one person in your group? We have your back! Add another person in at a significantly discounted rate. You can book up to 4 members of your family/group for this lesson, but we only recommend this if everybody is at the same level.

Terms & Conditions:
- Active Life Snow Club beginner adult group lessons and kids group lessons are available to book for guests staying between 23 December 2023 and 23 March 2024.
- Active Life Snow Club lessons can be booked using vouchers/coupons that are offered to guests through promotions by Active Life. Contact us for more info!
- Active Life Snow Club lessons are available at Madarao Mountain Resort and at Palcall Tsumagoi by Active Life
- All paid lesson bookings are non-refundable.
- For all booked lessons, no-shows will be charged 3000 yen per person. Proceeds of this will be donated to the Madarao clean-up fund at the conclusion of our winter season.
- Lessons must be booked and confirmed following the confirmation of your room reservation 7 days prior to the arrival date.
- Canceling your room reservation will cancel your lesson.
- Lesson sizes (the number of students) in each lesson may vary from day to day.
- Snowsports, including skiing and snowboarding, are all potentially hazardous. In recognition of the inherent risks associated with participating in lessons, you (guests and legal guardians of guests in lessons and/or guided tours) provided by Active Life Snow Club agree to release Active Life, and individuals representing Active Life Snow Club of all legal responsibility from actions of any individual or group, in the unlikely event that may cause unintentional injury or death to guests or others.
