Meet our Instructors
Fiona is a skier, snowboarder and cyclist and has taught Yoga for two ski seasons in Australia and Canada, along with being trained Sports Massage Therapist for 10 years. Years of self-study and in yoga becoming a part of Fiona's daily life, has complemented Fiona's robust training roots in India dating back to 2015 as well as her more recent completion of her 300 hour Yoga training in Nepal.
Her active lifestyle, combined with her deep understanding of anatomy and her quest on the spiritual path, create a well balanced class for all levels of student. The central focus of her class is always the breath. She believes correct use of breath alone can release restrictions in the body. Her style is typically a slower flow, allowing time to really feel into the muscles, either in contraction or relaxation. The classes are designed to target the specific muscles used while on the slopes, both to lengthen and strengthen.
Mia first found love for yoga when she trained as a dance practitioner in 2011. Her passion for health and well-being led her to complete 200 hours of yoga teacher training in Goa, India. Mia’s teachings are the result of her traditional foundation in Ashtanga yoga fused with her broad knowledge of contemporary bodywork disciplines. The connection between creativity and movement is always present in Mia’s yoga practise. Alongside the somatic benefits, her vinyasa style classes will stimulate a meditative state. A way to achieve this is by linking the breath with the yoga flow. Mia will often introduce themes in her classes, such as exploring Hindu mythology and being mindful with movement. Mia is also a qualified personal trainer, an avid reader and passionate snowboarder.
Sure! We all start somewhere. All of our yoga classes are suitable for any level of yoga practice. Our yoga instructor will offer options to modify or vary the yoga postures to suit the various needs.
