We are excited to announce that Active Life Japan is the new owner of Palcall Tsumagoi Ski Resort and Hotel, the largest resort in the Kanto region.
Active Life Japan currently owns and manages 4 properties. In Madarao, Japan 3 are hotels within minutes of the chairlifts of Madarao Kogen Ski Resort. These are Active Life Madarao, Hakken by Active Life, and Xplore by Active Life. Adding PalCall Tsumagoi Mountain Resort to our growing portfolio enables Active Life to start with a blank canvas and really offer a more customized holiday experience to people from all over the world…some of which many of you are already familiar with (free all-day kids lessons, our inter resort shuttle, etc)!
The 136-room resort hotel is literally skiing in/out and is at the base of the resort, directly connected to Karuizawa’s largest ski slope, with the highest trail at 2,100m in altitude and 750M vertical. It has the longest Gondola in the region (3.2km) and the longest run is 4.2km. All of this, is just 2 hours from Tokyo.
Our vision (plans which are underway) includes a summer oasis featuring a world-class downhill mountain bike course as well as some serious terrain park upgrades which we are hoping will sprawl across the wide slopes and approximately 4 km long trails!
With high altitudes, allowing for generous snow-making abilities and spacious 150-meter wide slopes, it’s great for beginner and intermediate snowboarders or skiers.
There are 16 slopes to choose from for those who are more advanced, while younger guests can enjoy fun-packed snow activities available in our FamilyLand Park (snow tubing, igloos, sledding, snow statues, snowman-making, and many more).
Guests can already experience panoramic views and an authentic Japanese onsen inside the hotel and we intend to invest in new facilities including a capsule hotel, day spa, bars, and restaurants. Look out for events and competitions through both winter and summer seasons in the very near future. In the summer, one very popular attraction located at the top of the mountain is the 100km Gunma Border trail, the longest ridgeline trail in Japan!
Palcall Tsumagoi Mountain Resort is located by one of the most famous hot spring villages, Kusatsu Onsen, and Karuizawa Prince Shopping Plaza, where you can enjoy a variety of restaurants and brand name boutiques.
